Zulizman graduated with a Diploma in Marine Engineering from Ungku Omar Polytechnic. He began his career in 1995 as a Marine Engineer at PETRONAS Tankers, specializing in LNG carriers. In 1998, he joined Malaysia Shipyard and Engineering (now MMHE) as an Estimator, handling cost and schedule estimates for ship repairs.
In 2000, he moved to Honeywell Engineering as a Business Development Executive for DCS systems in the marine and Oil & Gas sectors. He later joined Sapura Holdings in 2002 as Chief Engineer on a yacht, before transitioning to Sapura Energy in 2005, where he led two subsidiaries managing service agreements for clients like Petronas and Shell. Zulizman co-founded MOGBiss Sdn Bhd in 2012 and ZAR Lynx Sdn Bhd in 2014.
